Ndop Rice

Helping the rice farmers in Ngoketunjia, Cameroon

After 4 years, we have finally received the funding to allow us to start the programme.

Money is being donated to us by individuals and each of them will undertake a sponsored activity over the next few months. The sponsorship money that they raise will be donated to our cause.

With this money, we will invite Henry Ngimbu to Cameroon. Henry was recommended to us by Cornell University in the USA for the work he is doing in Zambia. Henry first introduced SRI to Zambia in 2005. In November 2009, the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) in Zambia engaged Henry Ngimbu to train farmers. In early 2010 Henry created the Centre for SRI Initiative (CSRII). In February 2011, CSRII received funding from the American Embassy to train 300 farmers in the Zambezi District of the Northwestern Province.

We are very pleased to welcome Henry to our programme.

What a great opportunity for the community of Ngoketunjia and the farmers, Tamara, I greatly appreciate your effort and hard work. Keep me posted and get me involved should you need my assistance. My regards to Henry and the funding parties.
